WIMS Peer Mentoring Villages

The purpose of the Villages is to provide a forum for discussion of the issues and opportunities impacting faculty, especially women, and to foster networks and support.

WIMS Facebook Group

This private Facebook Group is a space for women faculty to share personal news and accomplishments, challenges, ideas, and articles of interest. It is a place to crowd-source advice and receive encouragement and support.

Association for Academic Women

AAW endeavors to serve professional women with programming, such as our Women of Influence series, which inspires and connects us one to another; we cover a variety of topics from negotiating salary increases and promotion to retirement talks across the age spectrum and career stages.

UF Women’s Connection

The Mission of The Woman’s Connection is: To create an environment of life-long learning that empowers, nourishes and strengthens women.
The Woman’s Connection meets the fourth Tuesday of every month. Each month a speaker shares a topic relevant to the myriad of issues women face today.

UF American Medical Women’s Association

The student division of the American Medical Women’s Association is committed to advocating for and supporting the interests of female medical students. AMWA has been representing the needs and efforts of medical women since 1915 at a time when female physicians were a considerably underrepresented minority. As the number of women in medicine continues to grow, AMWA has been addressing many pressing issues facing women in health care and our UF chapter hopes to continue do so through discussion luncheons, workshops, and camaraderie.

Lactation Rooms

UF currently maintains several lactation rooms on campus. These rooms are available for all UF students, faculty, and staff, and are designed for comfort, convenience, and privacy.

GWIMS Toolkits and Webinars

Toolkits are designed to provide practical guidance on a variety of topics relevant to women faculty in academic medicine and science. Each resource provides an overview of the topic, relevant best practices, tips on implementation, and useful references.
