Graduate students serving in TA roles may benefit from programs and resources offered by the Office of Faculty Development & Teaching Excellence, which is dedicated to keeping faculty, staff, and teaching assistants connected and informed. They offer a number of workshops and events to support TAs.

The LIFE curriculum is a case-based educational program designed to help GME programs educate residents and faculty to prevent, identify, and manage resident fatigue and impairment.  This educational activity was supported by an educational grant from the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation.

GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION

Residency Substance Abuse Curriculum: Videos

While these videos focus on substance abuse and its mechanisms in the Anesthesiology Professional, concepts taught in these videos are equally applicable to all medical professions.  After viewing the videos in the order suggested, the learner will have a much better understanding of the difficulties associated with recognition and treatment of the addicted healthcare professional as well as the basics of neurobiology of addiction.  Total viewing time is 2 hours.

Florida’s 3RNet website allows health professionals looking to work in Florida to fill out an application.  Another database at the website allows facilities to list job opportunities for health professionals.  We try to place health professionals with employers in rural areas, especially health manpower shortage and medically underserved areas in Florida.

AAMC GWIMS Professional Development Toolkit

The GWIMS Toolkit is a series of presentations designed to provide practical guidance on a variety of topics relevant to women faculty in academic medicine. Each presentation provides an overview of the topic, relevant best practices, tips on implementation, and useful references for more information. We encourage you to share these resources with interested colleagues at your organization.

Beyond Graduate School

A career training platform designed specifically for master’s students with unique curricula, on-demand trainings, and career strategies to help them confidently apply for jobs. Beyond Graduate School provides self-paced courses, workbooks, and virtual events so master’s students develop the knowledge and confidence they need to successfully advance their careers. Students can access lessons on writing resumes, preparing for interviews, and job searching as an international student. To access the Beyond Graduate School resources, students will need to login and set up their account.

Beyond the Professoriate

Online professional development training platform for graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and PhDs that helps them successfully transition into academic or nonacademic careers.
